Mega Blood Donation Camp on the Occasion of the 50th Foundation Day of Sri Prakash Educational Institutions

A Mega Blood Donation Camp was organized on 19 August 2026 as part of the 50th Foundation Day (Golden Jubilee) celebrations of Sri Prakash Educational Institutions. The camp was conducted simultaneously at Tuni, Payakaraopeta, and Annavaram under the aegis of SPACES Degree College (Autonomous). The programme reflected the institution’s long-standing commitment to social responsibility, humanitarian service, and community welfare. The camp was inaugurated by the Joint Secretary of Sri Prakash Educational Institutions, Sri Ch. Vijay Prakash, who personally donated blood on the occasion. Addressing the gathering, he called upon students to develop a service-oriented mindset along with education and encouraged them to become responsible citizens who contribute meaningfully to society. He highlighted the institution’s continued tradition of voluntary blood donation and stated that, since 2004, students and staff of the institution have collectively donated around 3,000 units of blood, demonstrating their strong spirit of service and compassion. The camp received an enthusiastic response from the students, teaching faculty, non-teaching staff, parents, and well-wishers of the institution. Around 400 voluntary donors participated across the three centres and donated blood for the benefit of patients who may require blood during emergencies, surgeries, accidents, and other critical medical situations. A special mention must be made of the active participation and dedicated volunteerism of the NCC, NSS, and Rotaract Club members. Student volunteers from these units played an important role in mobilizing donors, creating awareness among students and the public, assisting the medical teams, coordinating donor registration, guiding participants, and ensuring the smooth conduct of the camps at all three locations. Their discipline, enthusiasm, teamwork, and spirit of service added great value to the programme and demonstrated how student organizations can contribute meaningfully to society. Their active involvement also reinforced the institution’s emphasis on developing socially responsible, compassionate, and service-minded young citizens. As part of the programme, six prolific blood donors, who have made exceptional contributions through repeated blood donations, were felicitated with mementos in recognition of their selfless service. The awardees were: 1. Sri Gupta Garu – 107 blood donations 2. Sri Penugonda Kamaraju Garu – 62 blood donations 3. Sri Golla Venkateswara Rao Garu – 55 blood donations 4. Sri Anusuri Manikumar Garu (O+ve) – 51 blood donations 5. Sri M. Vivek Garu – 43 blood donations 6. Sri G. T. Naidu Garu – 40 blood donations The honoured donors expressed their happiness at being part of the noble cause and emphasized that voluntary blood donation can be of immense help to people in emergency and life-saving situations. Their contribution served as an inspiration to the students and other participants to come forward and make blood donation a regular practice. To facilitate the collection of blood, the services and support of reputed blood banks and medical teams were arranged. The participating teams included Rotary Blood Bank, represented by Dr. P. Kamaraju; Red Cross Blood Bank, represented by Dr. Parasar; Mother Blood Bank, represented by Dr. Satyanarayana; and Venus Blood Bank, represented by Dr. Salmon Raj. The Mega Blood Donation Camp successfully combined the spirit of the Golden Jubilee celebrations with the values of compassion, service, and social responsibility. The overwhelming participation of students, staff, parents, well-wishers, NCC, NSS and Rotaract volunteers, along with voluntary donors, reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to serving society. The programme stood as a meaningful reminder that education is not merely about acquiring knowledge, but also about developing empathy, responsibility, and a willingness to serve humanity. The successful conduct of the mega blood donation camp across three locations marked a significant and memorable milestone in the 50th Foundation Day celebrations of Sri Prakash Educational Institutions.
